While climbing Mt. St. Helens (8366’) in Washington state I was able to take this photo of Mt. Adams (12,280’) to the east. Fluffy white clouds covered everything from one mountain to the other. They are about 60 miles apart as the crow flies. The climbing angle seems a bit exaggerated in this photo, but the climb was extremely steep in this section.

I have been very fortunate to live in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest most of my life. I became interested in photography through a Community College Class, but I am pretty much self-taught. I have been a hiker and backpacker in the Cascade Mountains of Oregon and Washington for the last 30 years, although a little slower now. I love to take photos while on these ventures into the mountains. The Pacific Northwest coastline is another amazing place for photographing. Add all that to a wonderful family, my wifes beautiful flower garden plus some travel, and I have more opportunities than I can imagine to take photos.
